The Turquoise Sea beckons with the promise of an invigorating plunge（投入）. A dream destination for tourists, teeming（大量出现） with marine（海的） wildlife（野生动物） at home on its shores. Corosail is an island paradise, but it's under threat（威胁）. The former（在前的） Dutch（荷兰的） colony（殖民地）, located off the coast of Venezuela, is feeling the impact of climate change and pollution. But these locals are taking action. Corolietta is fearless（无畏的） when it comes to saving animals, a mission（使命） she shares with Odette and her emissary for conservation（保存）, Bob the Flamingo.

  It's a far cry（喊） from the picture-perfect tourist snapshot. A thick mat of sargassum seaweed blankets the bay（湾） on Corosail's east coast. Sea turtles trapped（诱骗） in the algae（[植] 藻类） fight for their lives. And this group is fighting to save them. The alarm sounded early this morning. "Boom（繁荣）, I get this call. Corolietta, we need you.

  Come." Corolietta is 14 years old and volunteers for a sea turtle conservancy. Without flinching, she wades（跋涉） into the tossing waves with team leader Ard. The sea turtle species found（找到） here are endangered. The team is committed to saving as many as it can. Across the bay, turtles can be seen bobbing in the thicket（灌木丛） of algae（[植] 藻类）, losing strength with every passing hour.

  But from the water, they're virtually（实际上） impossible to locate. They're also not easy to rescue（营救）. "The algaes are so uncomfortable, it actually hurts when they hit you. It smells very bad. And you can't hear anything, the water just everywhere." The island has never seen a sargassum infestation like this. Warming oceans are fuelling（给…加燃料） algae（[植] 藻类） growth, as are fertilizers（肥料） flushed（奔流） into the sea from Brazil.

  The turtles come up for air and get entangled in the bloom. Without help, they perish（毁灭） in the heat. Every rescued turtle is a cause for celebration. "When I save a turtle, it just means a lot. I feel like I'm helping. But it's not just turtles, it's everything, the ocean itself. It's creatures（生物）, it's wonderful to me.

  And I die for that place." The team has been working（使工作） tirelessly for days. They've saved 25 turtles so far. Many are malnourished and weak. The team will nurse them back to health. The turtles that only need to gain（获得） weight are brought to the sea aquarium（水族馆） to recuperate（复原）.

  The ones that are sick are taken to veterinarian Odet Düst. These turtles have tumors（瘤） on their eyes and bodies. The sick animals are in the best of hands with Odet.
