Once when I was six years old, I saw a magnificent(高尚的) picture in a book called "True Stories from Nature(大自然)" about the primeval(原始的) forest. It was a picture of a boa constrictor in the act(行为) of swallowing( 吞下) an animal. Here is a copy(抄件) of the drawing(图画). In the book it said, "boa constrictors swallow their prey(捕食) whole( 完整的), without chewing(咀嚼) it. After that, they are not able(有能力的) to move, and they sleep through the six months that they need for digestion(消化)." I pondered(沉思) deeply(深刻地) then over the adventures(冒险) of the jungle, and after some work with a colored pencil, I succeeded(成功) in making my first drawing(图画).
