Once upon（ 在…上面） a time, there was a sweet（甜的） little girl. Everyone who saw her liked her. But most of all, her grandmother, who did not know what to give the child next. One day her mother said to her, "Come, Little Red Riding Hood. Here is a piece of cake and a bottle of wine.

  Take them to your grandmother. She is sick and weak（ 虚弱的） and they will do her well. Mind（介意） your manners（方式） and give her my greetings（问候）. Behave（表现） yourself on the way and do not leave the path（道路）. Or you might（可以〔用于礼貌地提出建议〕） fall down and break the glass and then there will be nothing for your sick grandmother." Little Red Riding Hood promised（允诺） to obey（顺从） her mother.

  The grandmother lived out in the woods（木材） a half hour from the village. When Little Red Riding Hood entered（走进） the woods（木材）, a wolf came up to her.
